A Little Bit of Mo

These are some Random Thoughts on our lives in general,
Hugh Laurie in PARTICULAR (need you ask)
and all you ever wanted to know, but never asked, about life in the sunny climes of Southern California and in the mountains of the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. Even if you didn't ask, lol. So, fellow HL fans, to the object of our admiration and respect..........

Mr.James Hugh Callum Laurie

Cyndi, Joan and I will share with you all, our own, personal, views on one Dr Gregory House. His addictions, his music, his misanthropy, perhaps we may even delve into his line of thought as he goes about the process of diagnosing the many and varied diseases presented by his patients. The disease of the week, lol, the comic relief of the Clinic Duties he tries so hard to avoid.

All this, and more will come your way as you read these pages.
We do invite your comments...and you may email us at:

March 3rd. HAPPY BIRTHDAY,SIS!!Hope the weather is good in Leeds!

So, Monday is RANT DAY!!!
The 'latest' paparrazzi pics are out and show Hugh and his wife out for a ride in LA.
The SCREAMING headlines ask "Why so Glum,"
YET AGAIN!!!!
For goodness sakes! Why so glum?
BECAUSE YOU ARE STALKING THE MAN AND HIS WIFE!!!!!

At the risk of repeating myself, the man deserves some privacy! THAT is the reason we, on this site, will NEVER post any papparrazi shots! Never show any 'so called' candids shot when Mr Laurie and or his family are trying to enjoy some private moments.Never re-tell 'gossip' We have a great deal of respect for Mr. Laurie and his family and we do not believe he owes us or any fans ANYTHING other than what he shares with us in his acting and musical talents and skills. He is doing a job!!!! It's only a job! We all have 'jobs' not as well paying as his but then we dont spend 14 + hours a day on ours, or at least most of us don't, but we are then able to enjoy our non working lives in peace and quiet. We can have 'private' time. Walk down the street, eat in a restaurant without being CONSTANTLY interrupted by people and flashing cameras. The price of fame, you say!
Of course (same old same old) he is a BIG name actor. Of course, according to the author of a recent book, "there are many, many "RABID" fans out there just ready to eat up any and all pics of the man. But you will not see those pics here, and if we lose the traffic generated by such photos, so be it.
If you agree or even disagree with these coments, please feel free to contact the author:

Welsh capital set to get its own varsity boat race

Feb 26 2008 by Gareth Rogers, South Wales Echo
IT is an age-old university battle that attracts millions of spectators from around the globe.
And now the Welsh capital could be getting its very own version of the Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Race
. Just a few weeks after the traditional contest between the light and dark blues on the Thames, the drama will move to the River Taff as the reds go head-to-head with the greens –– or Cardiff University against Swansea University.
And organisers are even hoping that Britain’’s most famous rower –– five times Olympic gold medallist, Steve Redgrave –– will start the race on April 16
. Event organiser and Welsh Varsity Boat Race chairman Nick Reeves-Hall said: ““This is going to be the biggest race ever in Cardiff.
““We want it to be just like Oxford and Cambridge racing down the Thames.
““Both universities are getting very excited and there will hopefully be people lining the river bank all the way to Cardiff Bay.
““There are some excellent oarsmen at both universities from all over Europe this year so it should be a great race.””
The revamped Welsh varsity race will start from the Millennium Stadium and follow the Taff for 3,600m to Cardiff Bay. The Welsh Varsity Boat Race Association has contacted Steve Redgrave about starting the student race and is hoped that he will attend. It is also hoped Cardiff-based Olympian Pete Gardener will umpire.
Prior to the April 16 battle, the rival teams will meet at the Mediterraneo Restaurant in Penarth, where they will meet the main sponsor of the cup Darren Beddis –– who has ploughed ££3,000 into the event.
He said: ““Being based in Penarth, we have strong links with the rowing community. It should be an excellent day and I have been asked to present the cup, which will be great.””
An hour before the race, the eight Cardiff reds will face off with the Swansea greens for the coin toss to decide which side of the river the teams will row on.
At the end of the race, medals will be handed out before the rowers attend a ball at Tiger Tiger, in Greyfriars Road.
To make the event extra special, a blade from the winning team’’s oar will be burned and put into the trophy, cricket Ashes style, for the winning team to keep.
The Cardiff team, based at Channel View Leisure Centre, in Jim Driscoll Way, Grangetown, is gearing up for the varsity challenge before going on to compete in this year’’s Henley Regatta.

February 4th
Well, I've been thinking on these lines for some time so now is the time to share my thoughts on:
THE DOCTOR PATIENT RELATIONSHIP AS IT PERTAINS TO HOUSE and ONE's PERSONAL PHYSICIAN

PHEW!!!!! That was a long title!lol.
So, we all know that Gregory House does NOT like to see the (not his) patients. He says they all lie, famous words we all know! That his actually 'seeing' the patient confuses the issue of his/her diagnosis. He neither knows, nor wants to know, anything personal about them. We, as fans, might look askance at that little trait, but not really give it much thought. Forgiving him for that. But I was thinking of my own personal, two, family doctors, over the last few years.
We had a GP, in another big city, who had treated us from the day he first went into practise. In fact, I hold the honor of being his first actual office patient. So did that mean we had a special relationship? Or is what I am about to speak of fairly common? If it is so, then our dear Dr. House is an anomaly.
This particuar doctor,Dr.C, was a very avid motorcycle fan and drove his Harley EVERY day when the snow was less than five feet off the ground, not quite, but you get the idea. Unlike House, he had a personaized license plate that told the world he was a Superdoca sentiment which I would wholeheartedly agree with. He was and still is, a caring physician. So now to my new GP.
Like Dr. House, my new GP is a specialist in his field, an excellent diagnosistion! But I have to say, he knows absolutly nothing of my personal and family history. Now, I can excuse that by his being very busy and having a ton of patients to care for, even though there are few patients waiting for him at any single time. He is careful about the waiting we must do. But he never asks me how my family are doing, he does not know what we ever did in life, it's just the moment, in that room, that counts to him. Nothing outside of the room.(Sound familiar?)(One Day, One Room) Just the immediate diagnosis is important. Nothing else.
Now we, the House fans, know full well that Greg House, cares not a whiff about the personal lives of his patients. He is concerned with the final correct diagnisis. Solving the puzzle! Personalities do not count to him. Personal lives do not matter to him, only the disease. He reaches his final diagnosis by a process we are all very familiar with, by the differential and he is usually correct. He hates to be wrong, will not countencance an incorrect diagnosis! My GP is the same. But oh how I miss the personal touch. Now someone once asked,

"If you had a choice, would you chose a knowlegable physician with a caring, bedside manner to treat you. Or would you chose a physician who has NO bedside manner, is a total jerk, but goes to the ends to cure you, even if he makes it a point NOT to come see you in your sick bed?"
I think I have already chosen the later!
PS. when I left my previous doctor, he took me in has arms and gave me a huge hug. He also laughed, at a joke we often shared, that I put shoes on his kids feet and later helped send them to collage. His fame at being a Superdoc was no fiction.

January 22nd
Has it really been that long since I last blogged? I guess it is. Well here follows a rant worthy enough to start the new year.
Those of you who subscribe to the daily Google Alerts may have seen the two photos of Hugh and Jo as they were out in the park walking the dog. "Why so Glum Hugh?"
Well, really! It looks to have been pouring with rain, they are both wearing Wellington Boots (welly's to Brits and rubber boots to the rest of us) If that's not enough to make a person glum , well I don't know what is! But the photog and text is taking HL to task about his glum face. Mention is made of the huge amount of money he is making on House. Why, therefore, should he be glum? Well, for one thing, the darn photographer was in his face! Taking pic after pic as Hugh and Jo were out walking. I know I would be pretty darn well,'glum' if not downright angry to find my private time with my family interupted by paparazzi snapping away as I walked. Wouldn't you?
Hugh Laurie does not owe us that side of his life! The private side of it. I know, 'he would be naught without the fans,' you say. I think he does deserve a private life, and we dont need to know every little thing he does with it. We all know he works darn hard for his pay, and he gets to share it with PR, agents, etc, etc,etc as well as the taxmen in two countries! He's paid his dues, give the man a break. He has every right to look, 'glum' considering he was being hounded, probably from the moment he and Jo left their home. I can see where some stars lash out at the paparazzi in anger. Though I'm not advocating that. I doubt that Hugh would take those extrememeasures, being the gentleman that he is. So what recourse does he have? Looking 'glum'? Give the man some peace. Here endeth my rant.

PS my darling granddaughter turned four years old yesterday. Happy Birthday, Darling!

PPS.Note to the Writers and Management....Please settle your disputes.Thank you from the fans.

December 23rd.
Getting an ON-LINE-Petition going to send our support to the writer's.

So the writer's strike goes on, and on, and on........Where are management in all this? Sitting in their Ivory Towers, counting the cash as it fills their bank accounts, while handing out a small pittance of coins to the people who actually do the creative work that brings in all their millions.
How about seeing sense, all you big whigs? Can't you see what this strike is doing? To the families of the writers, to the actors ( well, one can argue that the actors get paid exceedingly well for their work ) but that's not the point!
The point is that so many people are now suffering for the arrogance and greed of the management in the motion picture industry! Yes. I call it arrogance and greed.
We've all heard the stories of the so called "Hollywood Casting Couch" well in my honest opinion it's still going on but with non creative management, who have their many minions doing the work for them, in order to grease their poles, whilst they blast out their orders daily and give ne'er a thought to the creative people who actually ARE creative enough to put the caviar and champers on their,(management), tables!
Meanwhile, those same creative writers are looking at a rather bleak holiday ( darn all those people who send me e-mails about NOT using the 'C' word this year) and I know from where I speak. My hubby was laid off from his job at Christmas time, one Christmas. That one was very bleak for us, too.
Creative people, need to create whatever they do. Actors need to act, production crews need to work to feed their families, studios? Well there are so many people who work for the studios. It's disgusting to me that ALL these people are unable to work and provide for their families, might even lose their homes all they possess. All because Mr Big is sitting on his assets, grinning and smoking his big fat cigar, watching all these events going on and doing sweet toot about anything that could help put an end to this.

And one thing they are forgetting, up there in Ivory Towers, we the viewers. We are losing interest in re-runs, in the constant program substitutions. Many will not return to their favorite shows and so there will be losses in show productions.
This strike will be the 'death knoll' to several shows that are faltering in the ratings in addition to shows that are doing well. Viewers HAVE to have a real devotion to an actor/series to return once this strike is settled. Perhaps you, the reader have already noticed the forums/blogs, message boards and websites are going through VERY quiet periods, right now, and we all realise that many will not come back to the ratings they had prior to this strike.

I am realistic enough to understand that not many 'Big Whigs' will read this blog, but I implore you, if you care for a particular actor.show, speak up!!

SPEAK UP for the writer's, speak up for your actor, speak up for your show and speak up for your fellow viewers! How? Well! Write to the studio heads, let's get a campaign going write to everyone you can think of. If you know an actors PR/Agency, write to them asking for support. If you know the studio heads, most definitely write to them.

I'm willing to go out on a limb here, if you are not sure what to write, send me an email and I'll show you what I've written. I'm willing to collect names on an e-petition, if you will call it that, and I'll mail email and snail mail all replies. We as fans need to do something about this situation. We can't sit by and let our programs go the way of the dodo. It's time we stood up for the people we believe in, the shows we love and the actors and the crews who work in them. Please copy and paste this paragraph to all you know and lets get this thing on a roll.

It's cold!!!!! It's freezing cold!!!!! Well not so much here in the Okanagan Valley, but it is in the north. So I thought I'd share of photo of me, har har, you can't see my face, standing in front of a GIANT SNOWMAN! built by neighbors of our son, living in Alberta. This REALLY is a giant snowman, so you get an idea of how much snow has fallen there. This Snowman is taller than the house! Imagine the ingenuity and snow going to build it? Wonder what else they will build this winter?

Well our granddaughter took her mommy and daddy back home to the far north, to await a visit from the jolly fellow in red. We had a great visit, they live so far away that we get to see them about twice a year, so we cherish that time.
Now to the business of the day HL!
First, welcome Joan and her blog entries, another talented writer of comedic bent! You'll find her entries in her page,A Little Bit of Joan, so read and enjoy both our talented bloggers.

Now! As to cyndi's last entry, she speaks of the "Reasons" that things happen. I must agree. After running three different sites and meeting so many people from all over the world, I have to say that my little er...fascinations with certain actors, has led me to meet some very special friends. Friends I can honestly call adopted cyber members of my family. Truly!

Oh there HAVE been the odd not so nice peeps, but on the whole some very great ones and we have been able to help each other through some hard times as well as good ones.
I consider myself blessed to have been given the opportunity to meet them.

So our latest offer to you, the reader, is a copy of the Book, by Paul Challen,"The House That Hugh Laurie Built"
Now how, you may ask, can I obtain a copy of this book?
The simple answer is to take up our Fan Fic Challenge and send in your submission. We have two copies to give away. Very generously donated by the publishers, ECW Press of Toronto.

You may follow the storyline written by Maureen or you may submit your own story, we would prefer that it is Original. So email the owners with enquiries and the information will be sent to you via e-mail.

We would like to place a deadline of January 31st, so please bear that in mind.

November 28th
On PC Breakdowns and Tech Repairs, and Latest "House" reviews.
Well, I am FINALLY back online after a period of mourning that lasted two weeks. Now, I know PC system failures are not the end of the earth, but my oh my,this was the longest two weeks I've had all year. Apart from the two weeks I spent having root canals and other dental work.
My hard drive was overworked, all these caps and other Hugh Laurie stuff I've worked on caused it to go into major organ failure and I didn't have the benefit of having the object of my, er, little obsession close by to discuss the differentials with me.
So I turned to the good looking and young techs in the store close by me. I could NEVER send it far away for repair, I needed to be able to visit the shop and see how repairs were progressing and to discuss the possible health outcomes to my poor, sick hard drive. Unlike Dr. House, they were very patient with me and did not mock my OCB in hovering over their repair department. They even accepted the flowers I brought in for PC, (just joking everyone knows its not good to bring real flowers into a hospital environment, so I'm obsessed)
These gentlemen had my PC in their shop for Four Long Days. Replacing the hard drive was the easy part, but retrieving my files was another thing altogether. The guys commiserated with me, they would be good Boy Scouts and "Do their best" but no promises. Wahhh! How could I go on?
On the fourth day, hubby took me out for lunch, he had to get me away from the empty desk. Sitting at a desk with no PC and waiting for it to magically re- appear is not something I recommend, so off we went. But I had the old cell and called my doctors of technology to check up on old PC.
Finally, the word arrived, the patient had recovered, in fact made a unique and complete recovery! Joy, Joy, Joy, the guys had been able to restore all my files,( well they could not restore my email address book, so if you are on that list, please e-mail me so I can re-add you)
So the lesson to be learned is, back up all your files.
How does this sad but happily ending story apply to you, the visitor to our site? Well it meant that I could not cap last night's episode of House. However, I'll keep a look out for the repeat and then cap it for you.
As to the episode itself, well I for one, am glad the Games are over! As for Cuddy!!! I am shocked! Why you ask? Because she tells one and all that Greg House is one of the best doctors she has working at PPTH, so why did she hire Forman to keep him under control? In fact, why has she continued in playing'The Game' with House and his possible staff? Did she do this when she asked him to hire the original three ducklings? I doubt it.
Now we are without new shows until goodness knows when. So, on this website, we will add new episode reviews and caps where we can and of course, since we are not JUST a "House" site, but rather a Hugh Laurie site, we will be adding caps from A Bit Of Fry and Laurie in addition to Jeeves and Wooster and cyndi will add movie caps.
Let's all hope the strikes will end soon.

November 7th
On "House" in Particular and Hugh Laurie in General.
What can I say that you haven't already read concerning this weeks episode? I believe we saw a DARKER side of House, and its a side I don't want to go near. His wit and sexist comments have been acceptable and funny so far, but this episode? If I didn't know better, I'd swear it was written by writer's who are on strike now! What on earth are the production team thinking of? Are the new writers appealing to the younger female viewers who see House as a sex object they want to tame? Well let me tell you, there are FAR more of we female viewers and fans who are in a slightly older age bracket. What's more, we are FAITHFUL Hugh Laurie fans who will stay by him long after House has run it's course, and have been throughout his career. So please, writer's (when you go back to work)let's get back to the old Gregory House, who has wit and wisdom, even if he is a sarcastic, narcissistic SOB! I watched, wincing, as I heard some of the lines HL had to utter during this episode. REALLY! The writer's seem to have lost their way as far as putting the words into the actors mouths.House may be House and come out with things that make us look up, but even he is not so crude as to say some of the things he HAS been saying. As to our being expected to believe that a noted physician, working for the CIA, would drop her job at the slight suggestion that House would give her a job and show up on his doorstep, albeit PPTH, the same day? And she understood it was stricly sex! About these fellows looking to work with House as his new team? That storyline lost it's appeal for me when Scooter was fired. The remaining Doctors have shown me nothing to make them grow on me, as did the three ducklings. I can accept that the original three must move on, but there are none in the last five who strike me as being worthy of being mentored by House! Perhaps Kal Penn, the plastic surgeon and even Cole would work out but the two women???? No! But that is just my own humble opinion and you are all free to disagree with me, and you probably do. As for what Omar Epps, as Foreman, is being expected to do and say, well, best left unsaid! As mentioned above, What are the production team thinking?
It looks to me as though HL is also tiring of these nonsensical scripts. He seemed quite lackluster to me in this episode, even his walking with the cane was performed with little energy. He has stated on several occasions that he was attracted to the scripts. That the writing was excellent! But now? The production team and writers had better come up with much more interesting scripts than they are at present. We can only hope, because, in my opinion, if things don't improve we may very well lose our beloved "House" if Mr. Laurie walks.

November 5th.
Bonfire Night in the UK.
The day the Brits remember Mr. Guy Fawkes, who, in 1605, plotted to blow up parliment,
"Remember, remember, the fifth of November, gunpowder, treason and plot. We see no reason why gunpowder, treason should ever be forgot"

A rhyme all the kids grew up with in England, well in the England that I grew up in.lol!
It is also the day I was to return from the trip to San Diego and LA with cyndi. But circumstances prevented that.. The Fires in CA! I know that we have all done some praying for those to end. My own prayers were for cyndi and her family. I called her the day after they were evacuated and asked her how things were. If you read her blog, you'll see just HOW things were for her, but she told me she had her most precious possessions with her.. Her family safe and sound and her three seasons of House! Now how is THAT for a fan?
But seriously it has been a difficult time for all the residents of southern California. Stress causes all kinds of unpredictable behaviours (so I spell the Canadian way.lol) We saw that with Mr. Laurie's departure for home. I've seen all the talk and chat on other sites and forums, so much speculation. And that is all it is. SPECULATION! The man is entitled to go home when he needs to be with his family. He owes us nothing! Yes, he is a STAR!!! Yes, the fans made him so. Yes a lot of people depend on him for their jobs, but what do WE owe him? The least we owe him is respect! If he is ill, he needs time off. That's the way things work for us, if we are ill, we stay home from work. There is absolutly no need for fans and sites and media to go hog wild with speculation as to WHY he went home. Is it our business? No! The man works extremely hard! He is a perfectionist in his acting. As to those who say, "Well he gets paid the humongous money per ep." So what?He has given up a great deal for this. Eventually, "House" will run it's course and fans will go onto idolizing other actors and Mr. Laurie will go on to other projects. With the number of hours he works, he deserves every bit he earns, which, incidentlly, he shares with multiple others who assist him in his career. So we can show him the respect he deserves for his work, and consideration for his personal life, by not giving the negative press etc any credence for the words they write.
He has given us enjoyment, and allowed some of us to fantasize about House. Has brought a smile to our eyes and hearts by his comedy, and brought us to tears, with his sadness as Gregory House. So he has paid his dues.

September 24th!
Panic stations set in in my house tonight! Two hours ago, at 10:38pm, I messed up the TV remote control!Yikes! Oh No! A Fate worse than the Six Circle!! I tried and tried to fix it, only one channel ONE channel and that was not FOX!! Realise the implications now? Unable to DVDR House!!! What a mess. So I resorted to my usual means when faced with no TV, I called the cable guy...the tech! Explaining my problem, he tried to help, he really did try to help, but at midnight?? Poor young man must have been wacked himself and was no use to me. But your intrepid site owner, fell back on visual aids. I actually searched and found, under the couch, the TV and the DVDR manuals, I always wondered what fascinating facts they held....now I know.Well I'm certain that you, our faithful visitors, would know right away my need for panic. Only ONE TV channel and that NOT a House channel?? No wonder I panicked, never mind hubby would have no news channels to watch or his comedy's. Never mind I could not watch my BBC Canada programs. how could I watch HOUSE?, this of course means new screen caps later tomorrow evening. Oh my, correction, THIS evening.

    September 17th
White Coat and Ties, Or No White Coat and Ties,
    That is the question!

Or rather the question is" What's worse than sitting in a huge media room, with the biggest tv you ever did see and...suround sound, all three DVD's sets ready to play,.......and darn it you cant find the remote to turn the TV on?
Well I'll tell you: It's typing up a whole page of blog with new info about Dr House etc, and finding out you clicked out of it without saving the page" ARGHH!!!

Oh well, here we go again. Redemption for Dr. Gregory House and we, the fans, who are not concerned with his behaviours and or his mode of dress.

According to a statement, released today,(Sept 17th, 2007) by the UK Health Secretary, Mr. Alan Johnson, doctors could be set to lose their traditional white coats as part of hygiene measures to beat hospital superbugs.

We have all heard of the epidemic of superbugs in the hospital enviornment.Clostridium difficle and MRSA
(Been there, had that, and would never wish it on my worst enemy, if I had one.) being only two of many, many superbugs around.
So measures against such bugs now include a new dress code guidance calling for white coats not to be used as the cuffs could be contaminated.
Mr. Johnson says that hospitals will have to adopt a "Bare below the elbows" dress code......all right, all right!..settle down........meaning no sleeves, no watches and no jewellry. The biggie is.....doctors will have to work without neckties!!!!!
What will poor Dr House do? Well, I for one am certain he is laughing up his tee shirt sleeve, one more proof positive that he has been RIGHT!!!! all along!Well, at last some vindication from the British Medical Association(BMA)

But it is also a truth that, in Scandanavia and many of the US states, pediatricians and psychiatric personal have long ago passed up on the necktie and white coat as being archaic. It has long been known that there are some patients who develope high blood pressure on seeing a doctor in a white lab coat, and this can lead to an incorrect diagnosis in some patients. So, House is RIGHT!!!! No White Coats!

So now we come to the NECKTIE!!!!We all know House HATES them. Ugly things, hard to tie them, chokes round the neck, never can find one when you need one (as if he ever really needed one except to go to court) so the news that they will soon be forbidden will be greeted with joyfull glee and an "I told you so" from House, who, we know is almost ALWAYS right about everything!

The BMA are on record as calling the 'necktie'"functionless clothing, that are rarely laundered, are worn both inside and outside of the hospital environment, are almost always filled with pathogens.
We see the doctor's ties being 'draped' over the patient, yikes! I don't want to catch your dreadful diseases from your tie. Remove them, please! So, finally,at long last, vindication! Proof our Dr House absolutly knows what he is doing hours before everyone else does...

Eight more sleeps!!!! Oh Happy Day!

From the files of MissyMo, who almost always knows what she is doing, except when forgetting to hit the save button once in a while.

So, only 15 more sleeps------ and then...shebang! The return of old Dr. Crankypants! Well, nurse Brenda calls him that, but not I, or cyndi! I know that I, for one, look at Hugh Laurie and at his professionalism, and see a character, Dr Greg House, who IS indeed human! Others may say, his colleagues in particular, that he lacks any moral fibre. That he has the bedside manner of an Australian Box Stingray, my terms, (aren't you impressed? I watched a program on the Discovery Network last night, lol, and learnt that this animal is one of the most dangerous creatures alive so I would not want one sitting besides my sickbed.) But I feel that when push comes to pull, I would FAR rather have Dr. House looking into my case history than any other physician.

What makes Mr.Hugh Laurie's performance skills, as House, a more believable character than most actors in a television role?

His idiosyncratic behaviours, as Greg House, speak volumes as to Mr. Laurie's credibility, as an actor, to portray a thoroughly believable, albeit emphatic character.

Let's face it, Dr. Greg House is not what one might expect or hope to find as one's chosen physician. Although I would disagree with those critics who call him egotistical, he HAS, quite obviously something of a narcissistic personality. But having stated that, who would I rather have as my primary care?

Hugh Laurie makes 'House' realistic to me with his behaviour patterns. He bites his nails, 'chug-a-lugs' caffeine, plays with his various toys in order to allow his train of thought to expand on his patient's lab results, distracting his mind from his surroundings to better clear his mind. He is even 'addicted to TV soaps.(Let's not refer to his Vicodin at this time)
Laurie has been seen to take a 'pratfall' on several occasions. When his cane has broken for all of the many reasons this has happened to him, ( I have one that is stronger I'll be happy to trade with him, lol) when he has been punched by angry patients, or collapsed due to blood loss. He is more than willing to 'take a fall' and perhaps embarrass himself in an effort to make his character believable. To put his character in these situations, where many other actors would avoid such scenes . Why, we have even witnessed House performing 'normal bodily functions' he actually goes pee??? Oh my! and he has been known to loose control of these self same functions and 'wet the bed'! Or even be seen to have a leaking catheter, let alone having shown us how he inserted the thing in the first place.

Where have you seen these actions before? No-where in TV land, I'll warrant.

Personally, I am very pleased to see the directors take advantage of Mr. Laurie's many musical talents. It adds credibility to the role, as does the motorcycle riding.

My former GP, was a very avid motorcycle rider. He only drove his car when the snow became impossible to drive in, and he had a unique licence plate. One I'd better not reveal here but it related to his being a great doctor. Not that my GP had any ego issues, lol, he was the best and he knew it. Sound familiar?

So all in all, these, my very humble opinions, express my somewhat biased admiration for an actor who well deserves an EMMY award this weekend.

Well, what do you think of the above song? Cyndi and I love it. We both feel it describes Greg House so beautifully.

Well now to me! I am Maureen, but more commonly known as MissyMo by all and sundry. I'm an ex-patriot Brit, having emmigrated to Canada so long ago that two of my fellow boat passengers were Leif Erikkson and his son, Erik the Red.Lol!
My 'better'half, (well he considers himself so) and I, have two sons, both grown and living far away. The elder, T. is married and has a lovely little girl, ( of course nanamo and bumpa"s darling grandchild) and they live in the FAR north of our country, brrrrrrrr!!!!!So close to the North Pole that our Cassie is one of the first to get a visit from Santa every Christmas.
Our second son, C.lives in the province to the east of us, its still cold there but not as much as in the far north.
Hubby and I upped and left home in that eastern province and moved to the warmer climes of the west coast area of Canada. Well someone had to leave home! It was time to cut the apron strings.....and I hated all the snow!

I first came across Hugh Laurie. on a trip home to the UK to visit family. They were all glued to the television set watching,"A Bit of Fry and Laurie". It was a case of 'Come in, sit down, it's on, talk later!"
Perhaps not quite, I'm kidding, but I'm not when I tell you the electricty went off and there was a scramble to find the change to put in the meter before the show finished! That's how much the family loved that show. And, after I took off my coat and put my bags away and sat, with a huge mug of good old English tea on my lap, that I had the opportunity to see who was on the television... it was Mr.Hugh Laurie. himself and I fell in love with him....now when was that? Must be in 1987. Oh my, Mr.Hugh Laurie reminded me so much of a VERY young Stan Laurel. And the humor of Fry and Laurie? so like the humor I had grown up with, with the likes of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore,(before Hollywood discovered him) very University type humor, Rag Week and all! But all this was before we had recording devices and I had to leave Fry and Laurie in the UK when I returned to Canada. But from then on I scoured all the newspapers and magazines and looked for possible movies etc. And you must remember, this was also before IMDB, that bastion of information on all things theatrical. So I am a fan.... just like the many millions of other fans. And it is for this reason that Cyndi and I work to build this website for you and all Mr. L's other fans. But enough for now. We would love to hear from you, so please do email us. Send us your comments.
